With a small gift, we can help building two libraries in Zambia. Because literacy is the first step for a better life.
I couldn’t imagine my life without books. I learned to read very early and since I was a child books have been faithful companions. They made me dream, they made me think, they made me cry and they made me laugh.
Books fed my imagination, they gave me the taste for discovering and they boosted my love for traveling.
I have many reasons to be grateful, but one stands over all: I had the opportunity to study and get an excellent education. That’s the greatest richness I could have hoped for, because I know that whatever might happen in my life, nothing will ever deprive me of what I’ve learned.
That’s why I decided to support Passport With Purpose and the wonderful project to build two libraries in Zambia to support children literacy.
The project is ambitious: raising USD 80,000 to help Room to Read completing the construction of the two libraries and providing them will the necessary resources: books and other education tools, as well as training to teachers. But we can do it!
My support to Passport With Purpose
I found out about this amazing project only a few days ago, thus there was no time to look for a Sponsor. However, this was not something that was going to discourage me. I thus decided that the Sponsor would be… er… myself. I don’t have the resources for a big giveaway, but I wanted to contribute.
What I am offering?
A USD 100 Amazon Gift Card which, I hope, will be used to buy a lot of… Books.
How you can help
- November 30, 2011 marks the start of the fundraising, which will end on December 16, 2011.
- From that moment, you’ll be able to check the donation list, select a prize (and clearly more than one) among the many amazing giveaways and offer USD 10 for each prize for the chance to win one of them.
- Winners will be announced on December 23, 2011.
- Donations can be made via a Paypal account and are Tax deductible.
And if you feel like doing a little more, you can also make an additional donation without claiming a prize.
I’m proud to participate to this awesome project and hope that many will follow and spread the word.
Meanwhile, you can follow the progress of the fundraising on this blog, on Passport With Purpose web page and on Twitter (#PWP)
